Several original Poptel staff moved to The Phone Co-op, bringing internet services to this telecoms-based consumer cooperative. The Phone Co-op offers telephone, broadband, hosting and other telecoms products. All services are climate-neutral and their customer service gets a 98.5% approval rating.

In September 2002 staff from the web development department of Poptel formed a new company called Poptel Technology Ltd. Poptel Technology is a worker cooperative based in London, and a member of Co-operatives UK. It continues to work with organisations in the cooperative and social economy sector. They offer:

The third company is Real Poptel, which resulted from a merger between Poptel Ltd and Real Data Services in 2003. It is owned by private equity firm Sum International, based in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2004 the hardware section of the company parted to become Real Data Services Ltd once again. Leaving the ISP section behind and thus Real Poptel is now a pure ISP for residential, business and corporate clients.
